Vacation Reminders

Please continue to log into Lexia and Front Row while we are on vacation. They are a great way to practice your skills while we are off. Plus, some of you are so close to passing a level or finishing the program in Lexia. Continue reading. Any books you finish over break you can test on in December when we come back. Also, don't forget to finish your John Wilkes Booth Selfie Project.  It is due on the Monday when we return.

Science Fair Projects

By now all scholars should be developing a purpose and hypothesis and should be conducting their research on the internet or public library.  Vacation time is a good time to head over to the library and get some research done.  You do not want to fall behind on this project.  I look forward to hearing all about your research when we return to school.

The Grand Coulee Dam

We are currently working on argumentative writings in sixth grade.  We have been learning about The Grand Coulee Dam for one of these writings.  Many scholars have asked about the history of The Grand Coulee Dam.  Below you will find a link to the website the government has for the history of The Grand Coulee Dam.

Science Fair Papers

Today your child will bring home the two packets below.  They do not have to use the Science Fair Notebook packet, but the MUST have a Science Fair notebook turned in with their project.  They can use this packet for their notebook or use it as a guide.  The second packet that they will bring home today should look familiar.  This is their own copy of the Science Experiment Project.  They need to use this or handwrite out their own copy.  Their notes must be handwritten, not typed.  Please remember to take pictures of your experiment as you are conducting them.  You will use those for your notebook and boards.

Writing Checklist

Below you will see your scholar's "Checklist for Editing Writing."  This is the checklist that they need to use from now on when they are turning in a writing for class.  Please go through this with your child so that you are both aware of how they will be graded from this point forward.  Thank you!
