Homework During the Break

Today your scholar brought home their homework assignment for the break. They are making a Penguin Craftivity. It consists of 6 penguins, each penguin is for a different paragraph. Once scholars have written their 6 paragraphs, they will cut them out, glue them together and bring them back to school for a Writing Grade. This will count for their Publishing/Projects portion of their writing grade. Below are pictures of the instructions and each of the 6 penguin pages. Each penguin has a different set of instructions. All paragraphs should be 5 sentences.  Also remember that your Science Fair Projects are due on the Wednesday that we return, January 14, 2015.

Book Orders

On Monday your scholar brought home book order forms.  All forms are due with money by Friday, December 5th.  I plan to order all of the books on Friday so that they are here by the time we go on vacation.  This is an inexpensive way to encourage your scholar to read and build their love of books and their library at the same time.  Please make all checks payable to Scholastic Book Club.

Science Fair Update

All scholars should make a list of materials needed for their science fair project and gather those materials.  You should decide and list all off the procedures to be used.  Scholars should start experiments or your investigations now and collect the data.  If you have been following the outline I sent home you should be right on track.  Make sure you ask any questions you have in the next week or two.  All of you experiments will be due soon!  REMEMBER this project is worth 100 points in your science grade for the second semester.  It is vital that you do well!
